Event Name : “Three Mountain Charity Climb” – Cure Cataract Campaign

The Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu work as partners with the Hospital Queen Elizabeth Kota Kinabalu to address the problem of cataract related blindness especially in Sabah where the incident rate is double the national figure according to the National Eye Survey 2014.

The RCKK has a team of trained volunteers from paramedical staff in private hospitals who go to the grassroots and identify cataract patients. This programme also renders financial assistance to provide intra-ocular lenses for cataract patients undergoing surgery.

A team of 8 climbers will scale the top three big mountains of Borneo and Malaysia – Mt. Kinabalu, Mt. Trusmadi and Mt. Tambuyukon.
